UMO and Middle Sound Loop Peeps Clean the Community!

We were beyond excited when we were contacted by Shea at University of Mount Olive at Wilmington stating she wanted to form a volunteer program and she wanted to help KIC with litter clean up.

That is AWESOME!

UMO has already cleaned up an area of our green way trail and has removed lots of garbage, preventing it from entering our waterways.

Thank you Shea and thank you UMO at Wilm.!

The pics below are from two separate clean ups on the trail.

In other local community events, KIC Volunteers also helped the Middle Sound Loop Community during their community cleanup day.  This event was initiated and organized by KIC friend, Kim Beller.  Plastic Ocean Project INC supported the event.  The students at Ogden Elem. were a huge help making this day a great success!

Volunteers collected over 627 pounds of trash in just 3 hours!
